MY THING
I help people celebrate weddings, marriages, funerals, naming days, commitment ceremonies and l MC. I’ve been doing “my thing” for more than 15 years. It’s not some side hustle that l squeeze around my real job – this is my full-time business that is growing every year. No doubt like you, l am making a living, not a killing! Despite my dodgy sense of humour & love of pjs you will discover that l am super organised, reliable, flexible and experienced.
Technically l am Civil Marriage Celebrant Authorised by the Australian Attorney General but as far as l’m concerned that just means we can do whatever you want. Besides the 120 words to get a couple legally married (124 if you have middle names ) l have included prayers from all different religions, attempted to speak different languages, dressed up, deliver surprises, hiked to locations and Screamed “Let’s get them the F&*% married” on a stage... at a nightclub ... while a heavy metal band played.
I have performed marriages that have gone for 58 seconds ... I have performed weddings that have gone for 1 hour and 30 minutes. My ceremonies are traditional, romantic, funny, family oriented, adults only, soppy, super serious and everything in between ... especially, you know, normal.
The one commonality that “My thing” always is, is not my wedding!
I am never trying to be more glamorous than the bridesmaids or more memorable than the venue. I will look good and suit your theme but l am not trying to outshine you. l should not be “the thing” your guests remember about your ceremony. They should remember that you laughed, cried and enjoyed what was said. Your guests will wonder how long l have known you both and you will be completely stoked at how much you relax and enjoy the day.

Things Most People Want to Know
LegalsMost people l marry don't know a thing about the legal side and l don't expect them to - that's my job. I make sure it all gets done - correctly!
To get you legally married you need to both be over 18 years, not married to anyone else, not brother/sister uncle/niece etc and want to get married (no-one is forcing you). A Notice of Intended Marriage form needs to be witnessed and lodged with me at least one month before you want to get married. TravelIn 10 years l have done weddings from Cairns to Adelaide, country and city, homes, parks, churches, beaches and hills. I don’t charge travel for ceremonies within 50km of my home (Melbourne West) and beyond that l only charge what it costs me.

RehearsalsSome celebrants demand rehearsals, some refuse them – guess what – It’s not my wedding! If you want one or feel you need one, we have a rehearsal. I think they are particularly useful if you have people in the bridal party who have never been to a wedding or are super nervous about their role (think 10year old daughter) and if you are getting married somewhere they don’t normally do weddings. Most venues have a coordinator, specific ceremony spot and way of doing things that means although you have never done it before, it has been trialled and tested by many before you. However if you are getting married under THAT tree in a RANDOM park it is a great idea to walk through where the guests will sit, who will be in the sun and shade etc.
MeetingsMost of my couples work fulltime and many have kids so l try to make meetings as convenient for you as possible. Weekdays, weekends, weeknights (once you have tucked the kids into bed) at your place, my place or a local spot. If that is too hard, we can chat online too. Often we have between 1-3 meetings which last for 30-90 minutes each ... up to you coz,

InclusiveHopefully one day soon l will get to remove this paragraph from my website – but until then, just so you know – l do weddings for anybody, from anywhere to anyone. Because,
Yep, it’s not my wedding. It is always my aim to make every couple and guest feel considered, understood and comfortable. MCingMost people don’t have a rockstar Uncle or Corporate Speaking Sister to step in and MC their wedding reception and often even if they do, couples don’t want that person to ‘work’ on their wedding night. The simple solution is Me. We have already gotten to know each other, we are already having meetings, l am already travelling to your venue so it makes sense for me to hang around for 10 minutes or 5 hours (your choice) to coordinate your reception. I have been to loads of receptions so l can help you plan the perfect run sheet, assist with speech writing and make sure the whole day is fun and flowing. With me liaising with the venue staff, suppliers, filtering the guest requests and ensuring the event runs to plan – you get to sit back, relax and enjoy your party!
